About/Contact Us
Megan Meadows was born into the rural backcountry of San Diego, California. As a young child she often explored the surrounding mountains with her older siblings, never losing the instinctual bond with nature humans so often misplace. As a young adult her fascination with exploration and the natural world only grew deeper leading her across the globe from grand European cities and countryside to the precious landscapes of Asia and North America.
Megan has since enjoyed writing various travel stories for small town newsletters and travel poetry as a hobby. She has currently supplemented her income as a travel consultant and writer.
Richard Meadows, a British citizen spent his early years living in Kent. His appreciation for nature and wildlife grew with each family outing to the English countryside and National Trust locations. In his youth Richard enjoyed hiking around Snowdonia in Wales and the Warwickshire countryside and soon developed an interest in Photography.
A love of wildlife and the planet have led him on adventures throughout mountainous regions and rural villages from European sunrises to North American sunsets.
THE CROSSROADS:
Richard and Megan, both seasoned travelers and victims of the 2007 California wildfires found themselves standing at the crossroad since the fall of that year. They listened to the deepest voice within their hearts and in the wake of disaster began to carefully plan their journey around the world. Choosing not to dwell on loss, but instead celebrating the unforeseen change, Richard and Megan believe there’s purpose behind their misfortune and have found the silver lining in this old rain cloud.
Megan met Richard when she was traveling in the United Kingdom and they have been married since January of 2004. They both lived in San Diego, California for the last four years since their marriage.
Leaving on their journey around the globe they sold or put into storage the few belongings acquired since the fires. With no home to return to they left town and headed East.
