Charleston

If you find yourself searching for the perfect springtime getaway, you won’t have to look further than Charleston, South Carolina.

A supreme mixture of matured American culture and a mild climate welcomes the visitor with an open invitation. My invitation came to me a few years back as I was fortunate enough to travel through many of the Southern States with my grandmother. We arrived in Charleston early in the month of April and strolled around the farmers market carefully making our way through downtowns cobbled streets. The small town of Charleston oozes charm and if you’re not paying attention you may just be swept off your feet.

In the afternoon we found ourselves walking down East Bay Street famous for the colorful homes that have stood proud since the mid 1700’s, now known as Rainbow Row. With so much to admire we both lost our breath, although in Charleston that’s a good enough reason to relax and dine at one of the numerous local sidewalk cafés to take in the pleasant sights and sounds.
