There is a place on this planet that holds my most treasured memories.
The first time I visited the Oregon coast I was eight years old and was sure I’d landed upon heaven on earth. Free spirited summers as a teen would bring me back to the Oregon Sand Dunes year after year in the Siuslaw National Forest.
A forty-mile stretch of dunes, some protected in the park on one side while the other side is used for off road vehicles. The dunes are a true example of nature’s graceful beauty millions of years in the making. I would stay at the campground next to the sand dunes, make time to pick a few wild berries and climb the first sandy slope. Lush forest borders the giant sandbox I stood upon. Looking out to the cool Pacific ocean I hope to return here one day.
