Round the world - series trailer

There are many travel documentaries you can rent or watch on TV these days, but it’s hard to find a video that truly breathes the spirit of Independent travel.

Most of the bigger budgeted travel documentaries show the glitz and glamour of an area or merely take you to the touristy hotspots, the likes of where many independent travelers tend to avoid.

For those of us looking for something different from our traveling experience and for people with longer to spend in a country, it’s about becoming acquainted with a place through learning the traditions of the people, its history, landscape, language, food and culture.  It’s about getting out there and experiencing a country first hand, not like package holidays whereby your travel rep takes care of everything so you don’t have to think.

It’s about figuring things out for yourself, learning to deal with every situation as it arises and adapting your methods to suit.  Sure there will be the highs and lows, but with each there’s a story to be told.

For those of you who’ve been searching for a more independent traveler styled documentary without the fluff, then look no further.

Round the World Ticket

Quote from http://fcooneyphoto.com/

“Feargus’ approach to travel documentary filmmaking is of a very minimalist style. Leaving much of the standard cumbersome equipment and crews behind and using light, portable, but yet high quality gear for the sake of portability and being inconspicuous, Feargus brings the real experience of backpacking into his productions. This approach has led him to produce a number of films with an authentic and spontaneous quality that is often missing from bigger budget projects.”

The series follows Feargus Cooney and his girlfriend Eve Schreiber on their Round the World Ticket.  Watch as they trek in the Himalayas, drive across the world’s largest salt flat and visit some of the most spectacular sights in the world, sometimes trekking for days to reach them.
