A sense of something special can be felt at Terra Studios. As you stroll quietly along its wooded pathways you’ll encounter the mural garden and stone Labyrinth where many visitors have felt energy passing through them.
Artisans live and work at Terra Studios to produce the glass and pottery homewares, gifts and fine art pieces for sale in the showroom. The whole area is a work of art with many textures, colors and intriguing pieces throughout the grounds.
Terra Studios is also home to the Foundlings who were first found by Rita Ward as she finished her day at the potters wheel. Rita was cleaning up and squeezed a pile of clay from some collapsed bowls into a few small narrow shapes so it could dry better. It was only later as she walked by the clay shapes she was surprised because she saw little creatures “just asking to be let out”. Rita quickly picked up a pottery tool and with deft strokes a spirit emerged - a Foundling was born. Since then everytime she has some used clay to dry she “lets the spirits out”.
Soon there were so many Foundlings that she decided to put them out in the pottery showroom to see what would happen. Ever since that day countless people have found the little spirits in the clay and have taken them home.
Then there are the little clay people called Terrans who live at Terra Studios. I think it was these little people who punctured a tire on the car, preventing us from leaving until I changed it. As I turned to look back I saw a cheeky and mischievous grin on their faces.
Terra studios can be found nestled in the Ozark mountains about 30 mins drive from the center of Fayetteville Arkansas.
